1st Timer’s Guide

Welcome First Timers!

This document is meant to be a continuous work in progress as new questions and items come to light. The goal is to give those that have never been to Bricks Cascade, or any other convention of this sort, an idea of what to expect and things to plan for.

If you have First Timer questions, please use our Contact Us Page and send them to us so we may answer them and add them here for others.

Before Registration:

Bricks Cascade has two events in one. You will need to pick the event that is in-line with what you want to do.

Public Exposition – This event is held on Saturday and Sunday and the public is given a few hours each day to view the MOCs that the Private Builder’s Convention Attendees bring and shop at the vendors selling Lego related products.

Private Builder’s Convention – This is a 4-day event where AFOL builders come together to share their comradery and knowledge while participating in a number of events, games, and social gatherings.

If you decide the Public Exposition is for you, all that is left to do is watch the Home Page and newsletter for the announcement that ticket sales are open, purchase the tickets you need, and attend the event.

Should you conclude that the Private Builder’s Convention is for you, you need to decide your level of participation:

Before the Convention:

  • Visit the Registration Page and complete your registration at the level you decided.
  • Start thinking about if you want to bring MOCs (My Own Creations). These are constructs you build from your imagination to be put on display for the Public Exposition.Once decided you’ll need to start designing your build, sourcing parts, and working on construction over the next few months.
    • At any point you can visit the MOC Registration Page and register your MOCs. This will provide the information for a MOC card to be generated for you to post near your MOC. This card provides a description of your build and a number for the public and other builders to vote for your build and possibly win trophies and prizes. You will be able to edit your MOC registrations and even add a photo once you have completed the build.
  • Review our “What to Bring” list and begin to assemble your supplies
