The Mongrel-T, better known as the Jokermobile, is one of the most unforgettable custom cars from the classic 1966 Batman TV series. Built by legendary car designer George Barris, the car perfectly captured the Joker’s chaotic personality with its wild colors, exaggerated hot rod styling, and over-the-top details.
Originally built for an Elvis Presley movie, the car was later repurposed by Barris when the producers of Batman needed a vehicle for the Joker. With its bright red and yellow bodywork, exposed engine, chrome side pipes, and surfboards mounted in the back, it became the perfect villain counterpart to the 1966 Batmobile.
The Jokermobile is most famous for appearing in the legendary surfing competition episode, where Batman and Joker faced off in one of TV’s most wonderfully absurd moments.
