The Aardvark Story

Back in 2022, a small technical quirk birthed a legend. The MOC registration site lacked a "Please Select" option in its dropdown menu, so "Aardvark" was used as a placeholder to keep it at the top of the list. It worked fine for a year, but then the community did what it does best: it got weird.

Builders started intentionally designing MOCs for the "Aardvark" theme. By 2024, there was a full-blown (though unratified) movement to make the aardvark the official convention mascot. Today, it’s the convention’s "Unofficial" mascot and the star of its own "Anti-Theme."

The lore grew in 2026 when Matthew Chiles started the "Will it Aardvark?" challenge, turning random LEGO sets into aardvarks.

Don’t expect any prestige here, though. The Aardvark theme gets no official signs, just a haggard piece of cardboard and the only "prizes" are usually half-eaten bags of Cheetos or M&Ms.
